COMPETITION

1st INTERNATIONAL WŁODZIMIERZ KAMIŃSKI VIOLIN MAKING COMPETITION

FOR STUDENTS AND GRADUATES

 

First international violin making competition devoted entirely to students of artistic violin making and to those who have graduated within the last year.

The Competition is held in two rounds. During first round, violin makers of the Jury will assess the aesthetic qualities of the instruments submitted, while violinist will judge the acoustic and ergonomic qualities. In the second round, the Jury in its full composition will assess the acoustic qualities presented from stage. Sound presentations in the second round is open to the public (admission free) and will be given from behind a curtain to eliminate any visual stimuli.

The Laureates’ Concert will be held at the end of the Festival, during which the awarded instruments will be presented.

2ND ROUND - SOUND PRESENTATIONS

The instruments qualified for the second stage will be presented by violinist Celina Kotz from the stage of the Aula Nova during the sound presentations. The violinist will perform the same programme on all violins and the presentations will take place anonymously from behind a screen.
